Chic Stay in the Hunter valley

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, this 1920s cottage –  a home away from home – makes you feel like a Hunter local. Pollyanna is the perfect place to return to each evening, providing an overwhelming sense of calm and comfort whether you're playing board games in the evening, enjoying a glass of wine on the veranda or opening up the doors to the front yard every morning, welcome the beautiful rays of sunshine.

The cottage is a short drive from the very best wineries the Hunter has to offer, allowing you to spend the day sipping your way between cellar doors whilst looking over breathtaking scenes. Some notable wineries (of the many) we visited were Peterson House and Chocolate Factory. Zac was an absolutely splendid sommelier, sharing beautiful facts about their bubbly wines. After the most amazing tasting, we were met with some incredible homemade chocolate from next door – if you’re up for something fun, definitely try their chocolate pasta noodles!

After driving through the sprawling scenes of mountains and vineyards, we arrived back at Pollyanna. An impromptu music session on the stunning oak piano followed, then we curled up on the soft velvet couches for a movie and cup of tea. Before bed, I would highly suggest using the luxurious bathtub in the guest bathroom, relaxing with a book or glass of wine after a long day of adventures and whatever else the Hunter Valley has in store for you.

Peterson House produces some of the best sparkling wines I've ever had. Zac was an amazing sommelier, teaching us lots of new things about sparkling wine. The property is beautiful and surrounded by stunning views.
