An Inspiring Hinterland Dream

Driving up the driveway and seeing where this cottage sat was like arriving at a dream retreat. We had 360degree views of Byron Bay and the Hinterland and we were greeted by two cute dogs and the alpacas.

Before we got there we visited The Farm just out of Byron for lunch, where we explored the property of animals and where they grow their beautiful fresh produce. From there we chilled at the property, feeding the alpacas, playing with the dogs and admiring the views. We then went down to Byron for a bit of a shop, grabbed some dinner and relaxed back at the cottage. The next day we woke up to the rain and after it cleared we had Rob take us on a beautiful tour through his rainforest regeneration project. From there we hit the road to Killen Falls which was like a tropical paradise. We had a pizza lunch at Ciao Mate in Bangalow, shopped around and then headed to Wategos for the sunset, the colours were incredible. The next morning Bec watched the sunrise at the cottage, where once a year the sun rises directly in front of the lighthouse, I then headed to Tallow Beach to see if I could find some whales. I didn't see any but instead watched a pod of dolphins making their way through the shallows and the surfers catching their morning break.

The rest of the morning was spent relaxing at the cottage before we had to make our way back up to Brisbane for our final night to watch Bonobo perform.
