After a long week, we set off on Friday night and watched the city get smaller in our rear vision mirror as we headed up the Hume towards quaint Campbell's Creek for a wholesome escape. As soon as we arrived, we knew it was going to be a super cosy stay, and a wine by the fire was needed.

Waking up on Saturday morning, we were greeted with beautiful sunlight streaming into the converted school building. We fired up the oven and toasted some croissants for breakfast to fuel us for a day of adventuring through the local surrounds.

A highlight was The Mill, in Castlemaine, for its cool fashion, antiques and furniture. Lunch was just down the road at the Bridge Hotel, which had the most amazing food and a great pool table in the the beer garden. Arriving back at the School House, we sat by the fire with a wine, chatted and cooked a delicious spaghetti to finish off a lovely weekend recharging in the country.
