Folk Inspired Cottage in Skagit Valley

As soon as you pull into The Kinlands property, there is a certifiable romantic ambience that feels like a scene ripped straight from The Notebook. There is a rustic barn with an arch that frames and gives way to a pumpkin patch and garden where you are free to forage for fruits, vegetables and fresh herbs. There is a wooden rope swing under an ancient Oak tree that is rung by apple and pear trees in a private orchard-like setting. At the center of this inimitable 40-acres farmland is the perfect cedar-shingled cottage of your dreams. Thoughtfully curated and intentionally adorned with treasures in every nook and cranny, The Kinlands Cottage is a true mid-century masterpiece with enough history and stories to fill an entire time capsule. With days spent exploring the lush Skagit Valley and evenings in a hot bath with a book and a nip of local pumpkin whiskey, there truly is no better way to relax and rejuvenate than a stay at the timeless Kindlands Cottage....

Bread. Farm. If those two words alone aren't enough to entice an immediate visit, there's this: probably the best croissant I've ever had outside of Europe. Stunningly good. If pastries aren't your thing, there is a rotating list of freshly baked breads, house made granolas and other items that looked incredible as well....

An unbelievable pumpkin patch and veggie garden is tossed behind a rustic barn on the south side of the property. We used baskets and shears from the cottage to harvest gourds, green beans, tomatoes and herbs for our evening dinner. Doesn't get much better than that....

The highest point in the Skagit Valley, Mt. Erie. It offers sweeping views across the Skagit Bay and San Juans Islands, while also offering a unique chance to witness cloud inversions at sunrise, which is one of the most spectacular displays of nature imaginable!...
