A Relaxed Yet Exciting Time

When you drive into the property, you're immediately greeted with the lush greens that Kangaroo Valley is known for. The windy path to the property really makes you feel like you've escaped and you're on your way to your very own sanctuary, and it really is that. I was taken away by how serene the property was, and how calm it felt to be there. Immediately you're greeted with the vast and expansive hill in front to welcome you. The fog was slowly rolling away and the afternoon glow was starting to light up the entire valley gold.

The kind of escape that I look for is always one with a view that I can stare at for hours, and that's the first thing I did, grab myself a beer and sit on the front verandah and soak in the afternoon glow of the valley hitting the rough edges of the hill that was in front of us while my friend Sam was setting up the fire on the pit for us to enjoy for that night.

The accommodation was beautiful, and well designed, something else that is personally important for me with accommodation. All the homes, including ours on the property, are off-grid and solar-powered, which was a personal highlight for me. We didn't even need electricity at all, we mostly sat by the fire for light and warmth the whole time and it was perfect.

It rained for most of our stay, but that did not dampen our experience one bit. It was lovely to be able to stay inside, in the beautifully designed, luxury interior of the house, sit by the fire and listen to the rain and look out onto the valley and see the fog roll through at a pace your eyes could see, always changing the landscape and keeping your sites guessing.

Overall we left the stay with a big, relaxed sigh and a smile on our faces, as the big valley and tall cliff face entered our rear view. If you're looking for a luxury and eco getaway that is truly breathtaking and exciting as it is serene, I highly recommend booking a stay here, and make sure to bring lots of marshmallows!

We ventured out to Fitzroy Falls for a day hike. It was a short 20 mins drive up the mountain but you could clearly tell the air was much cooler and dewy. We did a short hike to the Twin Falls, and when we got there, we were greeted with a combination of a sunshower to our left, a broody and dark thunderstorm to our right and a rainbow right before our eyes. Truly it was sensory overload and I've never experienced anything like it in my life. Truly exhilarating.

There were other activities to do on the property itself, including taking a beautiful slow stroll down to the river for a kayak, we only had a short time to check this out due to the heavy rain the night before and the morning of, but it was tranquil and peaceful and I could see myself spending the whole afternoon down there!

We drove out to a small town called Bowral, walked down the main strip to look for a coffee shop to sit in, and slowly sipped our coffee as we remembered our time away. It was the best way to end our stay, and Bowral has lots of shops you can visit to buy antiques and local artisanal goods.
