Retreat to Airey's
Adventure in Aireys Inlet, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
Tucked away down a quiet road of the coastal hamlet Airey's Inlet you'll find Old Coach Retreat. An expansive property nestled amongst 11 acres of natures finest, which many local kangaroos call home.
We opened the gate and caught the first glimpse of our retreat from it all for a couple of nights. Bright, airy, spacious and impeccably designed are what first came to mind as we walked in. We wasted no time preparing some dinner in the quality equipped kitchen as the fire outside was lit. We soon filled up the outdoor bath and with a glass of wine enjoyed the cool of the evening as the fire crackled nearby. Kangaroos cruised through for a look as they made their way home for the night. The night was clear and the stars put on a brilliant show whilst we were warmed by the fire.
The next morning we enjoyed a coffee outside in the morning sunshine before a day of exploring the classic coastline of the Great Ocean Road. We just had to visit the iconic Split Point lighthouse only 2 minutes away and then drove down to Erskine Falls near Lorne. We rounded the day off with some fun on the bikes at nearby Anglesea.
Our time at the Old Coach Retreat was a wonderful family bonding experience. Nicely situated to enjoy the best of the Great Ocean Road and exuded a classy, natural vibe. We left feeling the kind of happiness and calm, that only a place like this on the coast can provide....
