Escape to the View
Adventure in Deans Marsh, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
Boonahview, perched above rolling hills at one of the highest points in the region, is only 150kms from Melbourne but you really get the feeling you’ve escaped the rat-race completely. The panoramic views are amazing, all visible from the comfort of your bed. We watched the sun set over the farm and settled in.
After a morning in front of the wood fire we hit the Forrest Brewery for lunch then braved the rain for a hike to Lake Elizabeth past tree ferns and black cockatoos. Ruth and Pete (and sheepdog Milly) had refreshments waiting for us on our arrival back to Boonahview with a fire to help dry us out as they talked us through the history of their amazing farm over a beer.
Day two began with freshly harvested eggs for breakfast before jumping on the four wheeler with host Pete, checking sheep and lambs only a few days old. We said our farewells and headed to Lorne and Erskine Falls, wrapping up a memorable weekend with a session high in the trees at Live Wire Park.
Boonahview is a spacious open plan cabin located on a working sheep farm in the Deans Marsh hinterland. Sleeping up to 4 people, the social floor plan and large windows make the most of the incredible views over the farm and beyond. Featuring a full kitchen, cosy wood fire and relaxed living space opening up to a great deck and lawn area....
