A Seafarer's Dream
Adventure in Red Hill South, Mornington Peninsula, VIC, AU
From calming whale songs to stormy seas it’s hard to articulate how truly wonderful this stay was, a sensory overload in the best way possible. For every switch there was to flick, there was a button to push, a lever to pull and a knob to twist. We explored the Red Hill Boat with the inquisitiveness and excitement we thought only attainable as a child.
With the captain’s hat donned, we stood at the fully functional helm finding it hard not to picture ourselves chasing horizons on the open ocean. The sounds of 1940s music filled the wheelhouse, while love stories from the war were read aloud in the saloon. Evenings were spent relaxing in the outdoor bath, while dinner was cooked on the barbecue and marshmallows roasted on the fire. Morning coffees were sipped on the Queen's Deck as we enjoyed a fresh complimentary breakfast and watched the wildlife frolic in the gardens. We explored the neighbouring beaches, immersed ourselves in a nature walk and popped across the road for a cheeky beer at the Red Hill Brewery.
After clocking up 687 nautical miles on the odometer it was a sad farewell to Action....
