River Cabin Magic

The Cabin at Kevington is located in a picturesque spot right on the river. Surrounded by nature with a huge fireplace, this log cabin leaves you wanting for nothing. This log cabin truly ticked all our boxes for the perfect weekend in the high country. Before we had even arrived we knew we were in for something special, but the cabin was even better that we had imagined.

We wasted no time in immersing ourselves into the landscape. We lit the fire and strolled down the gentle slope to the river. The sound of the river flowing was the soundtrack to the whole weekend. The cabins interior is so warm and inviting with the comfiest beds for a deep sleep. Whether it was relaxing by the cosy fire inside or enjoying a drink by the outdoor fire pit, tubing and fishing, the river was the heart of our stay. Truly a place you never have to leave - it was hard to tear us away.

Our son enjoyed the wooden A frame down by the river, whilst we chilled out on the comfy couch on the verandah. We fished all weekend and even caught a small trout! When the sun came out, we grabbed the tubes and floated down the Goulburn. The crystal clear water carried us along.

Back to basics, simple living and a truly magical time. The cabin was a soul replenishing experience which we sorely needed. We found the way life should be lived, down at the Cabin in Kevington.

The sun came out and the prospect of tubing down the river became very appealing. Great fun floating down the river in the crystal clear waters. Samantha supplies several tubes for your enjoyment.

We fished most of the weekend. The river is so accessible it was hard not to wet a line. We even got lucky with a small trout which was great fun for everyone. Sam provides a couple of rods, just byo tackle and bait. Worms worked for us.

Down the short Tunnel Bend track you'll find a diversion tunnel carved out of the rock. Constructed in 1866, it offers a fun and easily accessible caving experience.

We hit up the Delatite Hotel for dinner on the way home. Lovely big pub with a leafy beer garden, cold drinks and good pub food.

We tried our luck panning for gold in the river. We may not of known what we were doing but we loved it nonetheless. Atleast our son thought he found something like gold. Sam has a pan for you to use.
