Eco-luxe living in Byron's charming Hinterland

Carinya Byron Bay is a sleek, sophisticated, and thoughtful take on eco-luxe living in NSW. However, what separates Carinya from other stays, is the peacefulness and stillness that comes with resting and recharging in the tranquil Byron Bay hinterlands that Carinya resides within.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with native gin and tonics, a cap, a drink bottle, Byron Bay cookies, and soothing music playing in the background. We spent our mornings drinking coffee watching the sun rise, exploring local roasters and restaurants, as well as discovering decadent, luscious waterfalls nearby. To top it off, we would stargaze later in the evening over a glass (or three) of wine and relax into tranquility.

Only a 20 minute drive away from Carinya you will stumble upon Killen falls - a stunning waterfall and rainforest. Expect to see a wide, clear swimming basin with thundering falls of water above you. A lovely spot to swim, see, or simply sit and reflect.

We heard from a few locals that if you're after good coffee, Zentveld's is the place to go. Of course, we enjoyed coffee - but also chocolate roasted coffee beans, cakes, brownies - they even sell homemade soap, sourcing their coffee beans from their very own plantation. At Zentveld's you can undertake a tour of the gorgeous plantation and learn about the growing and production process, all the way from seed to cup. Or, you can explore the plantation fields yourself and see all the beautiful coffee beans growing.

If you're someone who enjoys basking in paradise, then this restaurant/cafe/nursury/farm is for you. Expect locally grown produce, outstanding food and lovely staff, surrounded by a gorgeous farm - you'll see pigs, horses, banana trees, chooks, herb beds, the lot! We enjoyed the chef's selection at the Three Blue Ducks for 2 for lunch, and were speechless after tasting the 12 hour slow cooked brisket (and freshly shucked oysters with finger lime). Highly recommend for a special occasion.
