Epic Ocean Sanctuary

What an incredible experience. We hit the road excited to escape the city for our coastal adventure and had the most epic, nature-immersed escape. Along the journey, we hiked a walking trail in Aireys Inlet, we cooled off with surf along the Great Ocean Road, and discovered the incredible Erskine Falls before making our way to the Deck House.

Located in the quaint coastal Australian town nestled atop a hill overlooking Wye River, the breathtaking views capture your attention as you arrive at the property. The stylish home has luxury offerings, candles, wine and chocolates greeted us upon arrival. We felt absolutely pampered.

Boasting floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of Wye River Beach, the perfect spot to watch over the bay, we spotted dolphins playing and spent hours mesmerised by the big blue scenery. Friendly Cockatoos greeted us each morning. We spent days exploring the magnificent surroundings, with so many great beaches along the GOR, we were spoilt. We enjoyed wine at the Wye Beach Hotel, coffee at The General Store, and delicious pastry from an excellent French restaurant Le Comptoir in Aireys Inlet. We sipped local organic wine next to the crackling fire while the moon lit up the ocean.

The views from the bathtub are incredible, such a treat to watch the waves and birdlife soaking in a steaming hot tub. The Deckhouse is the perfect place for a relaxing and fulfilling adventure – a memorable and luxurious coastal getaway, with a focus on stunning natural surroundings, and indulgent amenities.

Located behind Lorne in the Otways, Erskine Falls plunges 30 metres into the lush tree-fern gully of the Erskine River. Only a short walk from the car, we were humbled by this magnificent beauty.

We pulled in after a surf in Aireys Inlet to grab a bite before heading on to our destination. Such a great spot! We had heard great things about this French deli and restaurant and were not disappointed.

The cakes and baguettes are amazing, made from quality ingredients and so tasty and fresh. The coffee and vibes were on point. We will be heading back for dinner next time we're on the Great Ocean Rd. WOW.

We walked among the trees along the paths hugging the cliff edge and enjoyed amazing views of the coastline along Aireys Linet beaches. If you carry along you can reach the famous 'Round The Twist' Split Point lighthouse.
