Down right Darlin' at Dolly's.

We’d been on the road a lot. Some R&R was desperately needed, and Dolly's was the perfect little luxe cottage to give us just that. This beautifully styled abode was just waiting for us to dive into.

The smell of freshly baked sour dough greeted us, and we were excited to find a loaf sitting on the kitchen bench, ready for us to enjoy. We spent most our time at Dolly’s - we did as little as we liked, and she was ok with that.

There was an in-house coffee machine which we loved, art books to admire.... as well as each other. What more could a girl really ask for? Dolly’s was done just right in my books.

We played a few rounds of bowls found in the hallway just outside the back door while Dolly kept score. The winner decided on dinner, and the rest of the arvo was spent sittin' on the verandah, and sippin’ tea in the sunshine. Across the road was a homemade pizza palace that also ran old school film movies every Thursday night although, we decided take away pizza by the fire at Dolly’s was just darlin’ for us that night. So we did just that.

We had a sleepy morning lie in. The bed was truly deluxe fitted with linen and my lover. Being the waterfall enthusiast I am, we adventured to the nearest waterfall Trentham Falls and admired her from the distance. We continued into the quaint township of Trentham, where we came across The Composition Hotel. We sat outside under the oat tree enjoying some local ciders as the sunshine danced through the trees. Early dinner with a side of the greatest hot chips ever and we left with full hearts and tummys back to Dolly’s.

Warm showers were in order as we settled into the night and each other. Everything was down right darlin’ at Dolly’s. I'm grateful for the time shared, peace and the slowness Dolly's provided us. It was everything we needed plus more.

Easy walk down from the car park. You could see paths to get right down to the waterfall but due to the recent floods in the area, the paths down were all fenced off. We could still view the fall from the look out spot which was still pretty spectacular.

Dolly's provided a couple of outdoor games which was super fab given we weren't up to going too far on our first night there. We played lawn bowls in the open backyard and there was bad mitten and a soccer ball too.
The winner chose dinner.

Literally across the road from Dolly's is Radio Springs Hotel where we got our homemade pizzas from. They were simple and delish! We got two which was enough for the two of us. The place also features an old school 34 seat, movie theatre which runs a mystery film every Thursday night. Looked like an awesome experience if you could swing that in on a Thursday friends.
