Lovely Lakeside Luxury
Adventure in Murrays Beach, Sydney, NSW, AU
This is quite simply the best place we have ever stayed! After winding through bushy quiet streets to find the unassuming front door, the kids enthusiastically announced their approval! With excitement, they ran and jumped straight into the pool!
But, then however, they discovered the beautiful jetty and all the fish waiting to jump onto their fishing hooks - and then became fishing-obsessed for the rest of the trip! This was just fine for us... we could see the jetty from the verandah, so it was the perfect spot to sit, and watch with a cup of tea.
This house really feels like a home, you can feel that someone has spent a lot of time here pouring love and care into it. It's luxurious comfort at every turn and every single thing that you could possibly need to enjoy your time here. There is even a cafe serving breakfast and lunch in just a stones throw, as well as kid's playground. It's so so quiet here, the nights were still enough that I could hear the leaves in the trees. All of the doors onto all of the verandahs push right back for that inside-outside living - it was so nice to enjoy the quiet night air this way.
I get a little tear in my eye when I remember our sunset kayak paddle on our last evening with my youngest on my lap and the water so smooth, and drenched in heavenly colours. It was a moment of living that I will cherish forever.

Things We Did
- Kayak
- Beach
- Restaurant
- Fish
Gorgeous, still, shiny waters drenched in heavenly sunset colours, and an easy paddle around the serene bay. Our only company was some jumping fish and water birds - maybe a few distant fishermen silhouettes. Movie dream memory sequence, but in real life.
At the end of the road you will find a sweet beach with all the facilities you could want. We arrived late afternoon to a gorgeous quiet beach. The rock colours are mesmerising, the kids excitedly running in and out of caves exploring and a perfect deep rock pool to swim in.
Right near that sweet little jetty, you will find picnic tables and a kids playground perfect for enjoying fish and chips... and a smoothie from Murrays Cafe. You can also dine-in there with a view if perhaps your kids are a little less rambunctious, but we chose to share our lunch with the wildlings and the kookaburras alfresco, bellisimo!
Here is the place my daughter got the fishing bug. Her FIRST ever cast of her first ever fish (her brother handed her his rod) and she caught a huge flatty! The kids continued to pull fish after fish, I could barely get them off the jetty to come back to the house. It's a gorgeous little jetty, beautiful clear blue water and apparently many many fish.
