Escape to The Palms: A Rainforest Getaway
Adventure in Smiths Lake, North Coast, NSW, AU
This week, we packed our bags and headed to Smiths Lake for a much-needed break. Our destination? The Palms, a stunning white weatherboard coastal paradise nestled in the lush rainforest of the mid-north coast. The house was everything we dreamed of and more. From the indoor fireplace to the outdoor bath and sauna, it felt like our own private retreat. The best part? The backyard opening straight into the rainforest.
On our first morning, we enjoyed a homemade breaky listening to the birds start their day. After a bit of yoga and a quick sweat out, we ventured out to a local gem, Kembali Cafe. Inspired by Balinese culture, the cafe had a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed every bite and left feeling completely satisfied.
Afternoons were spent exploring the beautiful surroundings and relaxing at the house. The sauna was the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventuring. But the real highlight of our trip was the sunset picnic by Smiths Lake. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting vibrant hues across the sky, we spread out a blanket and indulged in a feast of local delights. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Our time at The Palms was short but sweet. It was the escape we didn't know we needed, and we left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the memories we made. We loved our peaceful getaway.

Winter sunshine had us beaming to get down to the ocean. Having this east coast gem almost to ourselves was pretty nice.
