We arrived at Cumulus House with high expectations, and it didn’t disappoint. Designed by an award-winning architectural firm, this solar-powered retreat perches 100 meters above sea level, nestled between the Otway Ranges on one side and spectacular views of Separation Creek and the Great Ocean Road on the other. With its high ceilings, endless windows, and seamless design, the house instantly wowed us, creating a serene atmosphere that feels like it floats in the clouds.
Our first evening began with a sunset drink at the Wye River Hotel, where we enjoyed the enchanting sight of the house glowing in the fading light. The next morning, a beautiful sunrise inspired Paula’s yoga session, which we followed with breakfast at the Wye River General Store, conveniently located by the beach. A refreshing swim after breakfast set the tone for a day filled with adventures, including exploring local waterfalls, enjoying bush walks, and savouring quiet moments of tranquility.
By the time we left, we felt completely refreshed. Cumulus House didn’t just meet our expectations—it surpassed them.
Breakfast at Wye River General Store was a delight—delicious food, a lovely playground by the Wye River, and the convenience of the general store attached to the café.
