Charming Two Stories On The Edge of Glory

Charming two stories on the edge of glory.

Submerged in the wildness, I arrived at this charming two story mud brick of gloriness which was facing the Colo River right on the cliffs edge!
It smelt like eucalyptus trees with a touch of summer breeze.
2 down stairs bedrooms all fitted with air cons as well as a large loft bedroom upstairs with an ensuite which I would call the master space. Open plan kitchen and lounge area big enough I could do kart wheels in! And yes. I did exactly that for those playing along at home.
The sunlight danced through the bathroom lead light glass creating splashes of colour throughout the room as the claw bathtub was calling out my name. I followed the signs to bubble bath-ville that afternoon.

As the sun was setting, I poured myself a glass of wine, sat outside the deck facing the river and watched as she disappeared into the mountain top views.
Several birds hopped from tree to tree and some boats passing by along the river that glorious evening.

Rising with the sun, I set out to follow the signs to the river in the hope for a morning dip. The river is tidal, so I made sure I had a floating device cos ah.. as much as I enjoy wandering, getting swept away with no support wouldn’t be fun! That happened once in my love life actually but that’s a story for another day. #playon
The walk down was adventurous and exciting! I love exploring! I swam across to the other side of the river to a sand bar and caught my breath before swimming back! The river looked gentle but ah.. she was fierce alright.

I climbed back up the gradual cliff edge and sat on the seat located along the walking track. The view was spectacular and I was ok to get lost there for a wee moment.

Whipped up brunch in the ‘everything you need’ kitchen and finished it with some yoga in the sunroom. The day was warming up, so I settled in all arvo keeping cool with my current read. The cupboards were filled with board games, cards and jigsaw puzzles throughout the mud brick adobe, although I was feeling my river swim was the only challenge I needed that day.
Every now and then, a sweet little robin would tap gently on the window as they admired their own reflection. I paused from my book each time to admire them too and the current river views. It’s those sweet moments that bring me such joy and fill my my heart with gratitude.

In the backyard, there’s a wholesome veggie garden which I explored and gathered some spinach, spring onions, carrots and herbs for my dinner. I placed them in the kitchen and wandered the the vacant camp ground to discover the outdoor tub! #jacpot
I bubbled to the top and bathed watching another impressive sunset. My fingers were super wrinkled by the time I was done. I mean, that’s how you know you’ve successfully bathed right?!

I mozied on back to the mud brick abode and made my dinner. I journaled, played myself a few love songs on the guitar before making my way up the wooden staircase to bed. I dunno if it was the morning swims or just the feeling of being submerged in the bushland but I slept so peacefully that night.

Lunchtime check out the next day was a bonus! Not that I did too much but take my sweet a$$ time. I took three deep breaths from the cliff edge of that summertime breeze and wished I could have bottled it up to take with me. It was dddeeeelightFULL.!
I left feeling rested and cared for after my time in the mudbrick abode. It felt just like home to me especially when the kookaburras called. So fortunate to call Australia home and experience such a magical stay. I’ll hold this time in my heart.

There's a veggie garden out the back of the house full of fresh produce for all guests to explore and use. Herbs. Spinach. Spring onions and carrots were all in season during our visit.

There's a couple of walking tracks along and down to the river. Its on the edge of the cliff, so please be extra careful. I went for a swim too although I do strongly recommend a board or some kind of floating device as the its a tidal river. It doesn't look really strong but trust me it is. Super fun exploring the sand bar across the other side.

On the property as part of the camp grounds is an outdoor bath. If the camp is vacant, the hosts are more than happy for you to experience this and I highly recommend at sunset.
