Pocket of Paradise
Adventure in The Pocket, North Coast, NSW, AU
From the moment we arrived at The Pocket Paradise, we knew we were in for something special. Perched high on the ridge, the retreat greeted us with breathtaking ocean and hinterland views, stretching endlessly in every direction. It felt like we had stumbled upon a secret sanctuary—somewhere to truly switch off, slow down, and soak in the nature around us.
Stepping inside, the space was an open-plan oasis, designed to inspire both relaxation and creativity. Stunning Australian art by Craig Ruddy adorned the walls, each piece drawing us in with its own story. The bedroom was spacious and serene, the kind of place where you can sleep deeply, wrapped in nature’s stillness. Even the bathroom felt luxurious.
The living area was just as inviting, with a cozy daybed for lounging and an open fireplace. Outside, a fire pit waited for us, perfectly positioned to take in the sweeping views. The outdoor bath was a little slice of magic, with lush views, and Craigie the kookaburra to keep you company. As the stars began to appear, we lit the fire and poured a glass of wine, letting the sounds of nature take over. The starter pack of firewood meant we could settle in straight away, no fuss.
The next morning, we woke to golden light pouring in through the windows and made our way to the gym and yoga space—a peaceful spot with yoga mats, exercise rings, and basic weights, perfect for a slow stretch or an energizing workout. The plunge pool attached to the managers residence was the perfect way to cool down. We went for a walk at Koonuym Range after lunch, and then finished the day with in-house massages on the deck. It was pure bliss!
As the stay drew to a close, we found ourselves already planning our return. This place was more than just a getaway—it was an experience of pure tranquility, connection to each other, and connection to nature.
Please note that the property is not suitable for small children, also the pool is attached to the managers residence.
