The Girly Pops Escape The Hustle
Adventure in Hepburn Springs, Macedon Ranges, VIC, AU
Before meeting up with the rest of the girl gang, I took myself on a little stroll around Lake Daylesford. The day was clear, and after that, so was my mind. The girly pops had arrived at our adobe, nestled in the bushland of Hepburn Springs. Let the good times begin!!
We stepped through the front door and followed the hallway into the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space. Floor-to-ceiling glass framed the entire area, stretching from the polished concrete floors to the high ceilings, offering a stunning view of the Australian bushland. Two bathrooms—one with the deepest tub imaginable. Han was beyond excited to try out the fancy body wash, while I was perfectly content just giving it a sniff. Sahh good! Two bedrooms, each with large sliding doors opening up to the great outdoors. We all took in three deep breaths of that fresh country air. One… two… three…
Amber got straight to prepping our feast while Cait Blanchett—aka Jo-Jo—stalked kangaroos, determined to capture the perfect Kodak moment. I even tried my hand at kangaroo whispering… but turns out, I’m still a little rusty. As the sun dipped and the night rolled in, wine was poured, and we settled in too. Kitchen dancing, bad date stories, and belly laughs filled the space.
The next morning, we woke up to sunlight streaming in and kangaroos grazing on our front lawn. “You don’t wake up to this in the city,” Han said, still half-asleep. We cranked up the coffee machine while Jo-Jo and Amber yoga’d it up. The morning was slow and steady—just what us busy girly pops needed. Ambition is our thing, but so is a good recharge. I toasted up some bagels, and we had ourselves a little PJ brunch gathering. Amber, the hair-styling queen, worked her magic on all of us with her latest hair contraption. The two bathrooms echoed with giggles and WOW moments.
We drove into the Daylesford market and wandered from stall to stall—fresh produce, food vans, coffee, spices, and loads of homemade goodness! Amber and Jo-Jo got lost trying on rings at a handmade jewelry stall, while Han and I found ourselves deep in conversation with the chili stall woman. Ha! Killer chili, by the way. Just five minutes from our humble abode was Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm. Han was absolutely losing her mind to get in and pat a fluffy cow. So, naturally, we went straight to the source before moseying around the rest of the farm, soaking up the sunshine, lavender, and each other’s company. We sniffed every single candle in the gift shop before heading to the café for lunch. And by heck, did we feast! We spent the entire afternoon there, stuffing our faces and unapologetically taking up space.
That evening, we lit the fire and sank into the lounges. It was an early night for us all. We slept in—like true sleeping beauties—before leaving our enlightened little home with full hearts, ready to take over the world. Now, watch us fly.
