A Balinese Retreat in the Heart of Hunter Valley

Our two-night stay at Hunter Valley's Most Beautiful Stay was a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, we set the tone for a relaxing and indulgent escape with a couples massage in the boathouse, courtesy of Hands of the Hunter Valley. The soothing treatment left us both feeling rejuvenated and ready to enjoy the beauty around us.

For lunch, we headed to Oishii, where we savoured fresh sushi while taking in stunning views of the vineyards. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind before we set out on an adventure to Pokolbin Lookout, a scenic drive through the vineyards offering breathtaking views of the region.

Back at the boathouse, we settled in with a wine and cheese board on the deck, watching the sunset and feeding the koi in the pond below. The boathouse itself was a true highlight—an enormous Balinese-style bath, a king-size bed with the most beautiful linen, and every comfort you could imagine.

The following morning, we woke to the soothing sounds of birds and began the day with yoga on the deck. It was the perfect way to stretch and connect with nature before heading out. We then enjoyed a short stroll down the road to Lucky Duck, an Asian-inspired restaurant where we dined on incredible flavours. It was the perfect way to wrap up our stay, and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, rejuvenating getaway.

Just after arriving, we eased into relaxation mode with a couples massage by Healing Hands of the Hunter, right in the comfort of our private accommodation. The soothing aroma of essential oils filled the space as the massage worked away any tension, setting the perfect tone for our getaway. With soft music playing, we felt ourselves truly unwind—completely present, completely at ease. It was more than just a treatment; it was a beautiful way to reconnect and transition into the slower pace of our time away.

We enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Lucky Duck Restaurant in Lovedale, perched over an old fish farm. Between courses, we fed the silver perch beneath the deck, adding a unique touch to the experience.

The food was a highlight—the duck bao buns were soft and flavourful, while the chicken wings had the perfect crunch and spice. With its peaceful lakeside setting and delicious share-style menu, it was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a long lunch in the Hunter Valley.
