Following a three hour drive from Melbourne to Bald Hill Estate, we arrived at some of the most breathtaking views over Whitfield, perched on the hillside, The Cow cabin offered stunning sunrise views across the valley, the kind that makes you pause to soak it all in. A highlight from the first evening was soaking in the outdoor bath as the sun dipped below the hill - the perfect reward after a long drive. The cabin itself was both luxurious and cosy, and we loved gazing up at the stars through the skylight from the comfort of our bed.

Our host Marty was incredibly generous with his time and local knowledge. He not only had fantastic recommendations for nearby spots and was more than happy to show us around the property. He was so thoughtful and provided us with his freshly baked bread, with plenty left for us to take home! A personal highlight was getting to meet his goats and alpacas on his farm, as well as hearing the stories behind the land.

We spent our first evening unwinding in The Hut, a beautifully styled communal space with a crackling fireplace. We braved the cold for sunrise both mornings, seeing the golden light spilt across the hills made it more than worth it. During the day we made the trip out to Paradise falls, about 30 minutes from the accommodation. The short walk down to the base of the waterfall, framed by the crisp blue sky, was the perfect way to recharge and connect with nature. We headed down to King River Brewing (just eight minutes drive away!) for their pie night, and were blown away by the warm atmosphere and incredible food. We would highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.
