Sunrise, Spa and Seclusion Bliss

We drove up to Bucketty on Friday night and were greeted by the warm glow of our tiny house — instantly excited to settle into our home-away-from-home for the weekend.

Morning arrived with birdsong, golden light spilling across the valley, and our sweet furbaby Chloe happily sniffing every new scent in paradise. Later, we met up with Chloe’s little sister for a hike in nearby Strickland State Forest. With so many trails to choose from — and even a few river crossings — it was the perfect dog-friendly adventure.

Back at the tiny house, we set our sights on the fire pit, cooking a pork roast and vegetables in the camp oven while Chloe napped. As dinner slowly came together, we roasted marshmallows and chatted by the flames as the sun dipped below the trees. The meal was incredible, and the night ended cosily inside with card games and laughter.

The next morning brought the ultimate treat: an unforgettable sunrise spa, soaking in the views as steam curled into the crisp valley air. Afterwards, we wandered through East Coast Orchard, picking fruit and enjoying breakfast among the orange trees. We headed home with the biggest bag of oranges we’ve ever seen — and hearts full of memories, feeling relaxed, recharged, and grateful for such a special escape.

East Coast orange orchard offers fruit picking (and best of all, it’s pet friendly!). It also has an on-site cafe - we enjoyed bacon and egg rolls at the tables between the rows of trees.

It was magical sitting in the steaming spa with a hot chocolate, taking in the views of the sunrise across the valley.

We put the camp oven in the fire for a slow-cooked roast dinner, and while it cooked, we went through a bag of roast marshmallows before dinner- what a perfect way to end a day!
