Valley views for days in a luxury studio
Adventure in Bellbrae, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
One of the things we loved most about Valley View Studio was how easy it was to get there. Less than an hour and a half from Melbourne, set in Bellbrae near Torquay and the start of the Great Ocean Road, it felt like we’d escaped properly without having to go far at all.
The drive already starts to slow you down, but it’s arriving and seeing the valley spread out in front of you that really does it. Green hills rolling away in every direction, wide open and calm, instantly putting us in holiday mode.
Inside, the studio felt warm and welcoming from the start. It’s light-filled and beautifully set up, with a super comfortable bed facing the valley. Waking up to that view never got old.
Evenings were spent by the indoor fireplace once the air cooled, and having a fully equipped kitchen made it easy to settle in. There’s also a small workstation, which was perfect for getting a bit of work done while still feeling surrounded by nature.
Mornings started with coffee, soft valley light and the rooster acting as our natural alarm clock, while chickens wandered around. We spent time in the beautiful garden on the property, then headed to Bells Beach to watch the waves roll in before returning to soak up the view once again at golden hour.
Valley View Studio struck that rare balance of feeling grounded, comfortable and effortlessly easy. The kind of place that makes even a short stay feel like a real reset.

Things We Did
- Winery
- Beach
- Farm
- Town
For lunch, we headed to Bellbrae Estate for a relaxed wine tasting. Sitting outside with a glass in hand, good food on the table and vineyards all around, it was the perfect way to slow things down and enjoy the region a little longer.
Bells Beach was an quick drive away and felt like a must at the end of the day. We went there for sunset and were lucky enough to spot kangaroos nearby as the sky softened and the waves rolled in below the cliffs. One of those simple moments that stays with you.
We loved starting our days slowly, wandering through the gardens on the property with coffee in hand. Chickens roamed freely and the rooster made sure we never slept in too long, quickly becoming part of the rhythm of the stay.
We spent some time wandering through Torquay, popping into this cute, quirky vintage store and browsing the outlets. It was a fun, easy way to mix a bit of coastal town energy into the trip, and we left with a couple of unexpected finds.
