Fairytale Retreat on Wild Dog Creek

After making our ascent up to Rachel's property, we were greeted with two very gorgeous doggies, a glistening emerald green springs and plenty of colourful birds. We decided to spend our afternoon feeding Rachel's ten deers, three horses and many birds, followed by a refreshing swim and paddle board in their springs in the late afternoon. We then headed into town to the Great Ocean Road Brewhouse for dinner and a few drinks. THE next morning, we decided to do a hike from Blanket Bay to Parker Inlet - where we bird watched, saw koalas and got to bask in the incredible view of the ocean. That evening we winded down by having a cosy night in - cooking steaks on the bbq, lighting the fire, and watching some classic Christmas movies with a cheeky complimentary bottle of red. The next day, it was time to head home - stopping off at Lake Elizabeth for a gentle stroll and off we went. We felt nourished, grounded, and ready for our next stay at Rachel's tranquil property.

Here we jumped off the peer into crystal clear springs that were 5 metres deep! Refreshingly chilly, yet warm enough with the sun on our backs. Here we swam, paddled, splashed and floated listening to the birds chirp around us as the sun came down.

We decided to go on a hike from Blanket Bay (approximately 40 minutes out of Apollo Bay) to Parker Inlet - a 9.5km hike along the great ocean road. On our hike, we saw sleeping koalas, australian parrots, wallabies, and of course beautiful native flora and fauna. Luckily we beat the ran and were graced with sunshine - getting a clear view of the ocean.

We went to the Great Ocean Road Brewery House to enjoy some fresh calamari, steak sandwiches and a few glasses of wine as we watched the sun go down. Easy going and relaxed venue - a perfect way to end our day.
