Stephy & Me by the Sea

“Holy sailor, we made it Stephy!” I shouted with overjoy!! This two bedroom gorgeous beach house near Rye has that effect on you. The air smells salty, the ocean is close enough to hear and the birds in the surrounding native trees are always busy, hopping and singing like they’re part of the experience. We booked this one as a little getaway to celebrate my friend Stephy on her birthday and as much as don’t see each other enough as much as we would like to, this was the more reason to make this stay away a trip for the memory books!

The house itself is beautiFULL thought out. Fresh linen sheets that feel crisp and clean, homemade soaps that smell grounding and beds so comfortable they make you reconsider early starts. The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen makes the space adds an easy breezy flow. Nothing feels cramped or over styled. Beachy vibes, calm and outrageously comfortable. I was froffing major over the attention to detail and guest care factor! Magnesium sprays. Beautiful soaps. Welcome beverage. It was beyond anything I had experienced before and I was over the moon to be sharing it with Stephy.

We spent a lot of time on the wrap around deck. Bare feet, coffee in hand, listening to the ocean roll in while the birds carried on around us. Sunset wine was a highlight, the sky changing colour while everything else stayed still. We even had a moment of stillness ourselves. The top beauty of the space, well.. besides my friend Stephy, was in fact the outdoor tub! Gosh, she was a beaut! Warm water, bubbles, cool air and a double brie bath picnic was had. Now that’s the kinda self care we all need from time to time.

The kitchen had absolutely everything I needed to cook Stephy a birthday feast. Cooking felt easy and enjoyable, and we ate until our tummies were full to match our adventurous hearts. Those simple shared meals always end up being the ones you remember most. Just you and me, by the sea.

We did adventure out during low tide to explore Pirate’s Bay caves. Swimming in the cave rock pools was thrilling and fun all at once, cold water, laughter and that rush you only get when you do something a tad risky. We climbed out before the tide came back in.

Our stay flew quicker than Peter Pan at this devine beach home and we left feeling pretty darn wholesome. What else could two adventure buddies as for? A beautiful abode by the sea, wicked good company and the time to be.
I mean, your time is the greatest gift you can give anyone right? Extra bonus when it’s by the sea.

Until we dive deep again my friend Stephy. Keep shining your star.

Gorgeous sunset views from the deck paired with a very good glass of wine. Cheers to the sunset lovers and air guitar players.

We found this pool rock that was nestled in a cave during low tide part of Pirates Bay Cave. Awesome spot for the brave hearted! Easy walking to get to but you'll need some good shoes to get down to the pools as the rocks are super sharp. We parked off on the nature strip on Royadie Rd and took the little track to the left of the fenced area.
