Rustic cabin & rockpool dreaming
Adventure in Ashby, North Coast, NSW, AU
It had been several years since visiting Yamba, so I grabbed my cousin Amber and furbaby Obi-Wan and off we went for a weekend of exploring. The log cabin we booked, just a 20 minute drive from Yamba, was truly special. So much rustic charm and retro detail. The stone fireplace was a beautiful feature.
On the first night, we lit the fire, made a charcuterie board and snuggled in for laughs and catch ups. Falling asleep that night, watching the fire and listening to the crackle along with the rain on the roof, felt like a kind of magic that never gets old.
The next morning, we headed into Yamba for a scrumptious breakfast and a wander around town. After weeks of rain, the sun made an awe inspiring appearance. So we spent hours at the infamous Blue Green Pools in Angourie - the rock pool had some of the clearest water we had ever seen.
Sun soaked and salt crusted, we stopped into the pub on the way home for a cheeky wine, then headed back to our cabin for sunset baths, watching the full moon rise, and more time by the fire.
This little cabin is honestly the perfect base for a Yamba sojourn, with such warm and welcoming hosts. We cannot wait to go back.
