Dreamy Vineyard Escape
Adventure in Murrindindi, High Country, VIC, AU
Rain was falling softly as we wound our way into the rolling hills of Murrindindi — and then, there it was. The Vineyard House. The afternoon was grey and drizzly, but the moment we stepped inside, warmth wrapped around us like a blanket.
Our lovely hosts welcomed us in, and we found ourselves falling for every little detail — an elegant, premium space that felt thoughtfully designed at every turn. A glass dining table, a spacious kitchen, a beautiful open lounge with a big LCD and an indoor fireplace by its side — all framed by views of the valley and vineyard you'd hardly find anywhere else. The bathroom was just as charming, with a lovely bathtub and its own little dressing corner — two bathrooms in fact, plus laundry — and both bedrooms woke up to views of the valley.
The rain, it turned out, was a gift. We baked cookies for the very first time, cooked slow dinners, and curled up by the fireplace as the vines disappeared into the mist outside. Mornings began gently — fresh sourdough and generous breakfast treats from our hosts, coffee in hand, nowhere to be.
Between showers, we wandered up the hill through the vines. The climb to the top was a little challenging — but the view waiting for us was breathtaking. Words can't quite explain the feeling of standing there, the whole valley and vineyard stretched out below us.
Then, on our final morning, the sun finally arrived — as if the valley was saying goodbye. We checked in at the cellar door and enjoyed a glass of wine with a view, soaking in the golden valley one last time. The perfect farewell.
We left feeling rested, grounded, and utterly spoiled. A truly premium escape — for anyone who dreams of slow mornings, golden evenings, and wine by the vines... this is it.

A cellar door experience right on the property — taste Sedona Estate’s own wines while soaking in uninterrupted views of the vineyard and hills beyond. Wine tasting doesn’t get more authentic, or more scenic, than this.
Some lookouts aren’t built — they’re found. Walk to the top of the property through the rows of vines and take in uninterrupted views of the rolling valley below. Just you, the breeze, and the winery stretched out beneath you.
Wet weather came as a gift — we turned the evening into a little baking date. First time baking cookies together, with the vineyard misty and beautiful right outside the window, and it ended up being one of the sweetest memories of our stay. Sometimes the weather has better plans for you than you do.
Stopped in for brekkie at Marmalades and instantly fell for its charm — everything felt cozy, warm, and rustic, like stepping back in time. Friendly staff, delicious food, and the perfect breakfast stop in Yea.
