Arriving at Maple Park Safari, we were welcomed by peaceful countryside, birdsong and a beautifully presented safari tent tucked amongst the trees. Michael and Fiona made us feel instantly at home, with a generous grazing platter waiting for us before we wandered the farm to meet friendly horses, goats Milo and Cookie, and the curious chickens. Evenings were wonderfully simple, enjoying a BBQ, a cosy fire and games inside the warm tent while kangaroos grazed nearby. Mornings began slowly with breakfast on the deck before exploring some of the region's best scenery, from the rolling green hills of Murchison Gap and the cascading Strath Creek Falls to the historic Monument Hill lookout. We couldn't resist one final sunrise adventure, returning to Murchison Gap before watching mist drift through Hang's Tree Lookout beneath soaring wedge-tailed eagles. We left feeling refreshed, grounded and already planning our next escape.
