Slow Days Under Otway Stars

We arrived after dark, settling into our cosy country cottage with a homemade pasta and steak dinner before curling up beside the fire. A competitive round of Wii Sports followed, but the real surprise was waiting outside. With almost no light pollution, thousands of stars filled the sky and the Milky Way stretched above the verandah.

The next morning was wonderfully slow. We kept the fire crackling, explored the farm and stopped to feed the resident goats and sheep before heading into Forrest. From there, we spent the afternoon wandering beneath the towering trees around Lake Elizabeth, where Mum was lucky enough to spot an elusive platypus.

Back at the cottage, sausages on the barbecue and books by the fire rounded out our final evening, before a frosty, peaceful morning sent us on our way home.
