Relaxation & Recreation

We rounded up a crew of 4 couples and escaped after work on a Friday to Lorne, having a super cruisey drive out we grabbed some cheeky takeway for dinner and arrived to the accom in Lorne around 8.30pm. We were all due for a relaxing weekend after a stressful few weeks of inner city work life hustle mixed with every time we usually hang out and adventure we end up 4wding / camping, it's usually a full on tiring weekend. So the plan for this weekend was to lounge around, drink some drinks, eat some food and explore the area at a leisurely pace, or not. No plan was the plan.

The accommodation comfortably slept 4 couples, and the house was well equipped with everything we needed to cook , chill and stay warm. We hit up the high ropes in Lorne which was super fun, ate pizza on the beach, had cheese & wine on the balcony in the sun looking out over the ocean, explored the Otways and drove the Great Ocean Road. All in all we did a heap but never felt rushed or exhausted, we left relaxed and ready to tackle the week ahead.

Located on the main strip of Lorne, this place has become an institution. Great food and coffee!

Rude to not do this scenic drive while out that way, if the weather is a cracker jump in the car and start driving. Stop along the way at scenic lookouts for great ocean and cliff views.

Great local pizza made fresh to order, we grabbed a few flavours takeaway and darted off to a picnic table down on the water in Lorne. A great spot for lunch or dinner.

After a day on the high ropes, the sun came out and we soaked up some rays on the Balcony at the Accom with beer, cheese and wine.

After the high ropes, we checked out the falls a little further up on the same road, only a short walk down to the bottom we took a few beers in an esky and chilled out down the bottom. The walk back up was a little tiring, though or we are just super unfit.

We wanted to watch the sun go down from Teddy's Lookout, maps said around a 15 minute from the property but we didn't realise how steep the last part would be. We would recommend taking a car up to the top. Great views once you are there!

Instead of going the same way home we decided to go via the Otways, a great part of Victoria with some great driving roads amongst the forest. We explored the Californian Redwoods as the last thing before we headed back to Melbourne.

The sun started to disappear for the night so we each grabbed a drink and walked down to the beach directly in front of the Accom. Super relaxing, we walked up to the pier and then back along the side of the road to the Property.

Harness up and climb the ropes and obstacles high in the gum trees, only a short 5 minute drive from the main strip of Lorne. Super fun and challenging!
