Where the Hills Meet the Ocean
Adventure in Apollo Bay, Great Ocean Road, VIC, AU
The Studio at Killala Post is the kind of place that instantly invites you to slow down, relax and reconnect with yourself. Tucked away amongst the rolling hills, its peaceful surroundings feel like a welcome escape from the outside world. Even the scenic drive there feels like a little taste of what’s to come - tranquility is definitely the word that comes to mind!
The Studio has all the charm of a secluded, cosy cabin retreat while being surprisingly close to Apollo Bay and the beach. It’s the perfect base for exploring the lush greenery of the Otways and the coastal wonders of the Great Ocean Road, before returning to the comfort and calm of the cabin.
We loved waking up to visits from the local birds, sitting out on the balcony overlooking the gardens, and enjoying a platter and glass of wine by the fire. Our fur friend Moxy loved it too, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy the beautiful property alongside us.
During our stay, we headed into Apollo Bay for a walk along the beach and stopped by the cosy Shelter Cafe for a caffeine fix. We also enjoyed a delicious feed at the American-style diner, Pit Stop Bros. Another highlight was Marriners Lookout, which offers stunning panoramic views across Apollo Bay and is a perfect little stop for some pics.
We loved how staying at Killala Post offered us both lush landscapes and coastal adventures, and felt like a little pocket of peace to return to at the end of the day. It was the kind of stay that made us slow down without even realising, and left us feeling restored.
