Country Charm and Bubble Baths

Following the garden path into Creswick Country Retreat, we were captivated by the warm wood panelling, tiled fireplace and award-winning bathroom, with its blue tiles, stone and curves. Inviting spaces made us feel instantly at home.

On our way, we’d stopped at Blue Waters, marvelling at its vibrant green lake nestled among the trees. Once our friends arrived, we enjoyed a walk, kangaroo sightings and a kick of the footy, before dinner and board games beside the fire.

The next morning began slowly with pancakes, followed by getting lost in Maze House, stopping at The Big Spud and playing mini golf in Ballarat. A peaceful walk around Calembeen Park’s lake rounded out the afternoon.

After dinner at the local pub, we unwound with a bubble bath. One final sleep-in left us refreshed and grateful. A beautiful escape for slowing down and reconnecting with friends.

We stopped at Blue Waters, surprised by its vibrant green rather than blue lake, surrounded by bushland and bright yellow spring flowers.

The Big Spud was closed whilst we visited, but its quirky displays and peaceful views across farmland and a dam made stopping worthwhile.
