Glass House on The Hills

Sometimes the city gets a bit too loud and nature and relaxation beckons to come play. We were in search of serene excellence to celebrate my girlfriend’s benchmark birthday and we found it perched atop a hill in Mount Franklin.

A double set of gates ensures the utmost security in a peaceful and secluded setting, winding up the gravel road it’s not hard to spot the inspiring architecture of Sky High. No detail was spared from the circular windows and archway to the rock wall in the master suite. No matter where we looked inside there was a view through the floor to ceiling sliding doors of what awaited us outside. After a long dip in the heated plunge pool, the sun began to set and we drew a bath to enjoy the colours in style. Meanwhile, our friends enjoyed wine and snacks on the inviting deck that spans the length of the house. Everyone was more than comfortable with the 4 bed and 3 bath layout, a design that offered privacy and a sense of decadence.

Sailor's Falls
Bring your water bottle on this easy and beautiful walk down to Sailors Falls. A loop trail leads you past the falls to a seasonal spring where you can fill your bottle. This is a walk less travelled and nice to get away from people and tourist attractions....
Cliffy's Cafe
Make the short trek down to local haunt, Cliffys, for a chill afternoon latte and delicious eats. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu....
