Lake House Getaway
Adventure in Lillian Rock, North Coast, NSW, AU
Not only do we get our own private Lake House for the weekend, but we also got our own private lake! We had lots of other activities planned during our stay, but at the Frog Hollow Lakehouse there’s so much to do, and the vibe is so chilled, we didn’t want to leave the property.
Waking up to a chorus of birdsongs we were greeted by resident wallabies patiently waiting for their breakfast at the backdoor, there was even a joey chilling in the pouch! Our legendary host Kerry had baked us a fresh loaf of bread, and the fridge was stocked with delicious breakfast goods plus fruit and vegies from Kerry’s garden!
There’s a giant boat shed kitted out with everything you could imagine to entertain a bunch of friends. BBQ zone, picnic tables, kayaks, SUP and a super cute rowboat. We had a lot of fun on the homemade diving board. Keep an eye out for the turtles and Platypus in the lake!
At the end of the day we relaxed with a couple of beers watching the sunset over the lake from the spa. We read the through the guestbook and noticed how many people had been returning visitors, and we can see why. Can’t wait to go back.

Things We Did
- Waterfall
- Experience
- Café
After a beautiful 15 minute walk through the forest, we arrived at Protesters Falls. There had been a bit of rain which meant there was plenty of water coming over the falls. We had the place to ourselves and loved walking behind the waterfall.
The Channon Craft Market is held on the second Sunday of every month from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. We made the mistake of arriving at 2:00 pm and an hour was nowhere enough time to browse the 100's of stalls. This is easily the best market we've ever been too, and every second stall had the most epic and unique handmade goods.
Nimbin is only 15 minutes drive and has a bunch of good places to grab dinner. We had a great wood fire Pizza at Armonica Cafe.
Nimbin Candles have been producing non-toxic, hand-dipped, traditionally made candles since 1973. The shop is basically in the factory so you can watch candles being made while browsing the many unique and colourful candles and beautiful scents. They have rad tee-shirts for sale too!
