The Pocket Rainforest Sanctuary

A scenic drive down The Pocket road, past Alpaca farms and grazing cows led to an unassuming dirt road turn-off into a blissful rainforest sanctuary. Tucked away amongst 5 acres of sub-tropical gardens and lush forest sits the Bliss Cottage, a two bedroom abode with its own hot-tub bungalow, Balinese style gardens and private pool.

We ventured out into the gardens to enjoy a creekside picnic beneath the towering rainforest canopy, before a short drive into Billinudgel for dinner. Visiting in winter, we made the most of the hot tub and indoor fireplace to keep warm, although the bifold doors and windows surrounding the kitchen would be perfect for entertaining on a summer's day by the pool. Inside, the main bedroom ensuite opens up to views of the garden, an ideal spot to relax with a warm bath after a day of exploring Byron Bay and the nearby coastline.

Whilst exploring nearby Brunswick Heads, we grabbed gelato from In The Pink and strolled over the bridge to enjoy it on the beach.
