Country & Coastal Vibes

Yalloak House in Birregurra is a beautifully renovated country homestead that's situated on a working sheep and cattle farm about 2 hours from Melbourne and 45 minutes from Lorne. The charming property accommodates for up to 10 people and is the perfect place to escape the city and enjoy up the serenity of both country and coastal living.

There's plenty of ways to unwind on and around the property, with an outdoor fireplace, a huge bathtub on the balcony overlooking the farm (highly recommend doing this at sunset with a glass of wine) and huge living room equipped with fireplaces to get cosy and chill with your mates. The surrounding farm offers lovely walks and spots to see the sunset as well (just watch the cow paddies!).

Yalloak House is a people pleaser, with its perfect mix of coastal and country vibes. You'll return home feeling alive and refreshed after a whole lot of swimming, hiking and chilling by the fire with a bottle of wine.

We rallied the troops together and headed down to Yalloak House to chill for the weekend. On night one we quickly got acquainted with the place on a nice sunset walk around the farm followed by a whole lot of relaxing by the outdoor fire. Day two we followed the advice of our amazing host Emily, who mentioned Lower Kalimna Falls was worth a look. We weren't disappointed! After a decent trek, we discovered the beautiful gushing falls that were pumping after a recent downpour. We plucked up the courage for an icy swim that shook off the slight hangover from the previous evening's reds and following that snuck in another dip at Lorne Beach. For lunch, we dropped into the newly opened Jetty Road Brewery in Lorne for lunch and a couple of pints - this place had great vibes and although we could've lingered longer we headed back to Yalloak for more good times around the outdoor fire. On our way home we stopped by The Lighthouse Tea Room for grandmas style scones and jam and coffee, followed by epics views of the coast from the lookout point.

Everyone had a ball on the property with plenty of space to explore on your own and rally together when the sun started to set. We would highly recommend any small or large groups to book Yalloak and enjoy all the amazing adventures on offer - it's an amazing part of Victoria with plenty of opportunities to live it up and get in touch with the stunning peaceful countryside. Emily is a very special host, she went above and beyond to ensure we got the very best out of our stay in Yalloak House.
