A Cosy Family Escape in Torquay

As a passionate nature photographer, I have always dreamed of living in a cosy cottage by the beach. When we arrived at The Hideaway Torquay, it was like a dream coming true. As the name suggests, the place is truly a hideaway, tucked quietly in the suburban costal street. It’s perfectly designed interiors and overall aesthetics brought the best of a zen beach house vibe, but was also paired perfectly with cosy touches for those colder days.

Our host Rebecca gifted us with a hamper full of local ingredients which was was an amazing food experience. A particular highlight for us was the wood-fire oven in the backyard, which we strongly recommend for all guests to try! We cooked as a family, enjoyed time on the swing, marvelled at the sunsets and walked the incredible beach coasts. It was a memorable time.

If you're looking for a special place to start your journey into the Great Ocean Road, The Hideaway Torquay is a great stopover option. the area is unique and you definitely can have a timeless memory. Thanks again for the love guys.

It's no joke - the property is across the street from the beach.

Point Addis Beach is one of the best spots around Torquay. Full of tracks, great for surf, and pet friendly. You can enjoy morning walks with your puppy, experiencing the raw nature and the sound of the ocean.

This is one of the most scenic hikes in the Great Ocean Road, this is for sure. Not just because of the Aboriginal History surrounding the track, but the amazing views from the top of the hill. I suggest this activity to everyone, even my little one of 2 years old could walk around safely.

P.S. Always watch yourselves around the cliffs, those are dangerous.

It's impossible not to notice the wood-fire pizza oven in the property's backyard. So, we did it... An amazing family time cooking and enjoying a perfect sunset in the sky.
