Serenity by the Water
Adventure in Goughs Bay, High Country, VIC, AU
Passing through, nearby Bonnie Doon, we quickly forgot about the city buzz and absorbed the serenity. We started our evening with a BBQ dinner on the deck, while keeping an eye out for the occasional fish that would pop out from the water. We played card games at night and woke up for sunrise the next morning. The fog on the hills surrounding the tiny home turned the whole area into a breathtaking setting.
There is heaps to explore in the area too. We visited the monthly market in Mansfield and went out for a hike up in the mountains. In the evening, we made a stop at the local brewery and talked about all the beautiful time we had.

Things We Did
- Kayak
- Mountain
- Sunrise
There is a two person kayak to paddle around in front of the Water Cabin. It's a small dam but it's very relaxing to sit on the water and enjoy the serenity around you.
Outside of the ski season, you can drive up to the ski resort and hike a few hundred meters up to the peak. From there, you can watch the breathtaking view of mountain tops under a warm orange sunset glow.
Lake Eildon is stretching along several towns. We drove there for the sunrise and were amazed by the spectacular views.
