The Bello Vintage Farm Stay

A Farm Stay with the emphasis on the "Stay". Nestled amongst the windy roads of the picturesque town of Bellingen this is the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the local hinterland. The Bellingen Vintage Farm Stay came complete with all the necessities to keep you comfortable, including cosy beds, a well-resourced kitchen, outdoor BBQ and fire pit plus loads of games and books to nestle in over. The first night was spent relaxing under the stars in the outdoor bath before retreating back inside by the fireplace. Pure heaven....

We rose early on our first morning to explore the beautiful property on foot. We hand-fed the residential goats, sheep and horses, picked a variety of citrus from the trees and collected eggs from the friendly chooks. The reward for our morning's efforts was the freshest breakfast imaginable. Orange and kumquat juice with a spinach omelette....
Urunga beach is about 15 minutes from the property. The boardwalk passes along the banks of the Kalang River, to the junction with the Bellinger River and out to the ocean. With stunning views inland past Urunga town and up the river valleys to the Great Dividing Range, north across the rivers to Mylestom Spit, and south along the beach to Picket Hill and beyond to Nambucca Heads. On a moody winter's day, we rugged up in our jackets and beanies and took in the scenery with prams in tow....
Hyde is in the middle of the main tourist stretch in Bellingen. It has some outside seating and inside the ex-community hall space is now a combination cafe and boutique homewares store. There's a friendly, funky atmosphere with locals plugging into the wifi on their laptops for some work away from home. The coffee is really good and the food is a hit for breaky and lunch....
