Recharge the soul
Adventure in Wooragee, High Country, VIC, AU
Sometimes 24 hours is all you need to recharge the soul. Hitting the Hume with my pal Sid, and dog Dusty, we chatted our hearts out all the way to a little town called Wooragee, located between Beechworth and Yackadadah. Minutes out from our accommodation, we discovered a berry farm and swung the car in with our mouths watering, purchasing a tray of freshly picked strawberries and homemade strawberry ice cream.
Arriving at our accommodation mid-afternoon in glorious winter sunshine, we dumped our bags in the cutest cream cottage that was surrounded by rolling countryside. We adventured on to Woolshed Falls while the light turned golden, running happily about on the rocks. We caught the sunset on the way back to the cottage, thoroughly enjoying the golden rays and watching the sky change colour as we ate our strawberry ice cream in the grass.
The stars overnight were spectacular, and a clear sky brought in the morning icy frost. Waking up to watch the sunrise, we were delighted to discover the moon hadn’t quite set yet. Together with Dusty, we explored some of the property with warm cups of tea as the sun rose. Before hitting the road back home, we drove along Gorge Road in Beechworth admiring some beautiful views.
Captains cottage is a gorgeous cream cottage that is tucked away in rolling countryside. Inside, there are so many cute colours, maritime items, and gorgeous furniture. Cosy and inviting, it felt like home as soon as we walked in. Complete with a balcony with views of the countryside, and a beautiful veranda. And the best thing – it’s pet friendly....
