McDonalds might seem like an interesting choice when faced with all of the foodie options Taupō has to offer - but there is something that sets this fast food joint apart from all the rest. It's a bit hard to miss the enormous decommissioned DC3 plane parked outside the restaurant, which houses seats and tables for you to enjoy your fare, and you can even view the cockpit and read a bit about the history of the aircraft while up there! It's quite a sight to behold, and a bit of good fun.
