This is a pet friendly farm stay however, some recent poor guest behaviour now requires us to check and confirm the details of every pet arrival. You can only bring your pet after discussing with and obtaining the owner’s prior agreement before making your booking. If you bring a dog or dogs without the owner’s prior knowledge and agreement you will be politely asked to leave the property.

Tathra Valley View is a free-standing MicroHome located towards the rear of the Tathra Farmstays property with landscaped gardens and sweeping 180-degree Westerly views across the Flowerdale Valley. This is a getaway for two adults and cannot accommodate any children.

Located about 500 metres east of the Tathra Homestead, "Tathra Valley View" is a cosy, ultra-modern, luxury, off-grid farm stay set amongst the paddocks with our guest-friendly Friesian horses, alpacas, sheep and goats.

Additional Information

One of the Tathra Valley View highlights is our wood-fired Japanese hot tub situated directly under the Milky Way also with sunset facing views. Sit down with your favourite drink and enjoy the exclusive and private setting.

Breakfast is an opt in scenario (you must advise us at least 24 to 48 hours in advance if you wish to have a self cook breakfast supplied). It’s a do-it-yourself affair (we supply the breakfast cereals, eggs, bread, bacon, jams, juice etc). We only provide breakfast items for the first morning of your stay.

While Valley View is pet friendly, approval to bring your pet is subject to owner approval. Please note this accommodation is only suitable for dogs classified as Toy through to Medium.

Amazing stay at Tathra Valley Farm Stay. Super peaceful, beautiful setting, and the woodfire hot tub was a standout — incredibly relaxing and such a unique experience. Everything was clean, cosy, and ...thoughtfully set up. We loved it so much we’ve already recommended it to friends and would happily stay again.

Bike Riding Horse Riding

Located only 10 minutes drive from Strath Valley View the Great Victorian Rail Trail is Victoria’s longest rail trail spanning 134km from Tallarook through Yea to Mansfield, with a link between Cathkin and Alexandra. The trail can be explored by pushbike, on foot or on horseback.

Splash In The River

The river is only shallow, so humans and pup alike can enjoy splashing about - a fantastic place to take dogs of all swimming abilities.

King Parrot Creek

Morning light, fresh air and the sound of running water meandering through King Parrot Creek.

Strath Creek Falls

This waterfall is located in Mount Disappointment State Forest. Follow the walk, which leads you to a beautiful view of the falls cascading 50 metres to the gully below. The perfect time to visit is after heavy rains.

Kinglake National Park

Most of Kinglake National Park is covered in eucalypt forest. If you look closely you will see many of the trees showing a green new growth along their trunks following the fire. Grass trees now have tall flowering spikes and tree ferns are bright with new growth. Slowly other species will regerminate including wattles, bush peas, heath, tussock grass and orchids.
