We arrived at Cloud View Retreat and were mesmerized by the magnificent view of the valley beneath us and delighted by the array of birdlife in nearby trees -we sighted King parrots, Pied Currawongs a...nd Sulphur crested Cockatoos. The next morning we awoke to a prolonged chorus from the resident Kookaburras and a spectacular pink sunrise that filled the morning sky. After a delicious breakfast we headed to Emerald for their Saturday market and later drove to Emerald Lake. We had a special meal prepared by our wonderful hosts, Mark and Leenah on Saturday night and on Sunday headed home after walking through Sherbrook Forest and visiting a vintage Bookshop in Sassafras.

My stay at Cloud Retreat was simply unforgettable. It’s a place with a unique view, full of harmony and with a real perfection in good taste. From the moment you arrive, you can see the care in every ...detail and the 100/100 cleanliness, which truly makes a difference.
Everything reflects what someone who loves quality things is looking for. The atmosphere is elegant, peaceful and beautifully designed. You can really feel the balance and attention that has gone into creating such a special place.
The authenticity in the customer service is something I had never experienced anywhere else before. The way guests are looked after feels genuine and thoughtful, making the whole stay even more enjoyable.
I absolutely loved this place. It’s full of romance, elegance and the pleasure of life, perfect for relaxing and enjoying special moments.
Without a doubt, Cloud Retreat is a place I would happily return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

Puffing Billy
The journey aboard Puffing Billy takes you through the magnificent Dandenong Ranges, located only one hour east of Melbourne.

Birdsland Reserve
We took a long walk around the reserve listening to the birds sing in the trees and enjoying the sunshine that came out to play.
Sherbrooke Falls
Enjoy this peaceful walk to Sherbrooke Falls, and find a new favourite escape for walks and picnics. Start at the beginning of the track near the main entrance on Sherbrooke Road, and wind past rough and smooth tree ferns. Along the way you'll see the region's finest sassafras and mountain ash, some of them up to 200 years old.
