Perfectly positioned just 2 hours from Melbourne CBD, half way between Ballarat & Ararat, 30 minutes from the world renowned Grampians in the heart of the Pyrenees Shire an emerging wine region.
We are 5 minutes from Cave Hill Creek, and 10 minutes from Mt Cole and Berrimpo nature walks and Ferntree Gully Falls. Annual events in Beaufort - such as the Arts Festival early June, the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally (May & November), and there are other food and wine events scattered through-out the year.
Valdara offers you the opportunity to take a break from your daily city life, an chance to reset. Take a leisurely walk around the paddocks, meet the Valdara sheep family including Uncle Fonzie, the chooks, the wild ducks on the dam. If you would like to borrow our 2 mountain pushbikes and take a ride around the region, please let us know in advance. A real agri-tourism experience.

The woolshed is approx 50 metres from the main house - with total privacy.

On a clear night the amazing sky is full of stars and the milky way is very clear. You will often see a falling star. Local tourism events and offering information is provided in the room. The woolshed is approx 100 metre's from the main house.

If you are coming to Beaufort / Raglan region for a wedding at one our great local venues – Cave hill Creek ( 5 minutes away) or Eurambeen Historic Homestead (10 minutes away) Valdara is perfectly situated.
10 minutes from Valdara is the renowned Mt Cole / Beerimpo State forest known for its beautiful vista’s, fascinating bush walks, amazing flora and fauna.
Visitors to our region, also enjoying horse riding, mountain bike riding, bushwalking, bird watching.


No Party Policy - we respect our neighbours and the environment, no music or noise after 9pm , sorry but the woolshed is NOT dog friendly

Unique space with a large TV, pool table, dart board, full kitchen, bathroom.
Our property is available for up to 6 guests (3 couples). An additional person fee applies for any additional guests after the first two.

The nightly rate is for 2 people (one bed / one room) additional rooms / people are additional price.

Our additional person fee is based on the number of beds used, as well as the number of guests. If your booking is for two people, but sleeping in separate beds, the additional person fee will apply to your booking."


Valdara has two types of accommodation – the Grain Store cottage & the Rustic Woolshed

Your hosts provide self check in instructions via email no later than 24 hours before your arrival, from our past experiences a lot of guests like the additional privacy, peace and serenity for the Valdara get away.

Fully self- contained rustic woolshed – sleeps up to 3 couples - equipped with a pot belly fire to keep you warm in the winter (firewood is provided for the length of your stay (if additional is required a small fee maybe charged) , free standing fans will circulate the breeze during the summer months. We provide a mosqito net over the bed incase those pesty bugs are around and there is also mosie coils and bug repellant if needed.


Valdara supplies a bottle of water, a selection of tea bags, instant coffee, long life milk, sugar, Salt / Pepper cooking oil. We do not recommend you drink the local water.

No party policy - we are a quiet relaxed location and appreciate no music after 9 pm

We are very grateful for our wonderful natural environment we live in and ask our guests to please respect it whilst visiting, water is liquid gold so if you can be conscious of your usage. We recycle, kitchen scraps go to the chickens, and the rubbish is sorted to rubbish and recycle (glass separate) it would be greatly appreciated if you can leave your rubbish accordingly. We are on septic, so please only toilet paper.

When wandering around the farm, please shut the gates behind you.

Please do not put your hand over the orchard fence, one of our little chi's is abit anxious and may nip. Also remember we are in the country, you may from time to time, hear or see snakes, mice, spiders, possums. Please take care. ”

Please watch your step going up and down the front steps of the Grain Store cottage, remember you are in the country so there maybe sharp or rough services, we recommend you wear thongs or slippers on the decks and stairs to avoid any possible splinters or nails.”

Dont forget the new Pyrenees Farmgate trail - artisans, wineries, produce.
The Cyril Callister Museum (the man who invented Vegemite) is open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 2pm with a cafe that sell's Vegemite inspired treats sweet and savoury

If you have Vodafone or Telstra you should get good coverage here, we are not sure about the other suppliers.

Pillows and mattress's are a very personal choice, we have been lucky to make 95% of our guests happy with what we offer but unfortunately you cannot please everyone.

Please drive and park on the gravel area's only. We appreciate you turning off electric blankets, air / heating and lights when not in accommodation.

You’ll love my place because of The location is unique - a country rustic wool shed, we are 45 minutes to either Ballarat or Ararat and about 1 hour to the Grampians. Surrounded by beautiful gums we have lots of lovely birds. We are on 8 acres of land in the Pryenees Shire heart of the wine region. Our hobby farm, we have 6 sheep, 3 chickens, 1 small dogs kept in the house whilst we have visitors. People love the real country charm experience and all the little details around the property.
