Oh my, such a unique and ever lasting experience the beautiful homely Callis Eco cabin! Truly an unforgettable birthday weekend celebrated in pure tranquility amongst the serenity of the bush, amongst... multiple birds, and shy wallabies and wombats.
Was wonderful cooking over a camp fire, using minimal electricity from the solar panels, and gas heating inside. But the most amazing experience was having a fire powered outside bath, enjoying the freshness of outside whilst melting away in a hot bath, with the smell of an open fire adding to the raw atmosphere.
We also discovered a lovely little town of Bundanoon, and especially the big Hotel there which had the most delicious food.

An idyllic weekend for my daughter and I. We loved the generous welcome basket, the fire pit and the outdoor bath. It was so hot- we filled it with cold water and sat in it reading. We sawn in the poo...l, picked salad from the guest garden, and chatted to the horses. the tiny house was so comfortable. We could have stayed for much longer.

If you don’t feel like going too far, there’s no shortage of things to do on the estate itself. Start your morning with a walk down to the meditation deck by the river and utilise the curated Spotify playlist.

Penrose Post Cafe
A nice walk, or short drive from Aruna is the newly opened Penrose Post Café. If you want really good coffee and a yummy breakfast/brunch, look no further. Our favorites are the Zucchini Fritters (with a side of bacon), the Eggs Benedict and the Bircher Muesli.
Bushwalk The Erith Coal Mine Trail In Morton National Park
A beautiful bushwalk in Morton National Park, the Erith Coal Mine Trail takes you to the old coal mine openings (no longer open, of course) and a stunning waterfall. Hop over the streams and make your way down to the bottom of the waterfall for a spot where the fairies must live.

A popular bushwalking and cycling destination in the picturesque Southern Highlands. The town of Bundanoon is located on the edge of Morton National Park making it the ideal place for bushwalking. Take in the spectacular wilderness and great walking trails.
Potters Pantry
After a big day out, we discovered a quiet little cafe in Bundanoon. Often we find places like this close after morning trade, but this spot was still open even as we arrived after 4pm. The kids were treated to some oversized cookies and the parents enjoyed a cheeky late afternoon coffee.
Walk To Fairy Bower Falls
The descent is very steep; however, the walk itself is not very long. The path will lead you down to some small streams, but you can also view from the top platform.
Coffee At The Exeter General Store Po
Great coffee, a delicious menu and a wall full of second-hand books that are perfect to peruse as you sip your coffee. The general store section of the cafe has a great range of delicious local goods. Exeter itself is a gorgeous town; one of the most architecturally adorable churches I've ever seen sits here, or on a sunny day you can watch the locals play at the croquet club.
