A Hideaway for Romance, Family Time & Unforgettable Gatherings
For couples craving a secluded escape: Slow mornings start with coffee on the deck, the mist weaving through towering eucalypts. Afternoons invite slow soaks in the private bathhouse, side by side. Evenings? Wrapped in a blanket by the wood-burning fireplace, sharing a bottle of wine, the forest humming all around.
For families seeking a nature-filled adventure: Watch the kids skip stones in the creek, spot kangaroos from the deck, and gather for campfire chats under a sky full of stars. With room for up to 8, a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of space to roam, it’s a place where memories are made—without the Wi-Fi battles.
For friends looking to reconnect: Settle in with great company, long conversations, and an outdoor bathhouse under the stars. Cook up a feast, pour another glass, and let the crackling fire do the rest. Out here, the only schedule is your own.
Slow down. Sink in. Stay a while.
There’s something about The Treehouse. The way the light filters through the gums. The way time stretches just a little longer. The way you finally breathe.
A rare escape, and it books out fast. Don’t wait—your retreat is calling.

Additional Information
Conditions of Booking – Keeping Carawirry Wild & Wonderful
We keep things relaxed and easy at Carawirry, but there are a few simple house rules to help protect the land, wildlife, and experience for everyone.
Smoking Outdoors
✔ If you smoke, please do so outside, away from doorways and windows.
✔ Butts in the bin, not on the ground—no one wants to find those lying around.
✔ Fire safety is serious business—especially in dry months. A single ember can spark real trouble in the bush.
Humans Only
Carawirry is brimming with wildlife, and we’d love to keep it that way. Please don’t bring pets—even the well-behaved ones.
Don’t worry, resident wallaby Skip will cure any furry friend withdrawals.
Be Drain Aware
The only thing that should go down the toilet is toilet paper (well, and the other obvious stuff).
A blocked drain in the middle of the forest? Trust us—you don’t want that.
It’s Cool to Be Kind
Respect your fellow guests—Carawirry is a place to switch off and slow down.
Keep noise to a minimum between 9 PM and 9 AM—nature’s soundtrack is already a cracker.
Stick to your space—please don’t wander into other guests’ areas.

We had such a magical time at the Treehouse! From the moment we entered, we felt the peaceful charm of the house and the surrounded rainforest. It’s so tranquil, I’m so pleased we didn’t need to leave... the house at all whilst we were there. The highlight was the baths for sure! But also the fireplace, the different settings to relax and the incredible shower! The nearby walks were perfect for us. The very friendly wallabies were incredible! As soon as we arrived we wanted to stay longer. Thanks so much for such a beautiful stay, it was just what the doctor ordered.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Treehouse at Carawirry Forest Escape. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place. The silence was incredible – you could literally hear a p...in drop. It was exactly what we needed to unwind and escape the noise of everyday life.
The property is set on approximately 250 acres of beautiful bushland, giving you a real sense of space and seclusion. There are a couple of other escape retreats on the property, but they are positioned far enough apart that everyone’s privacy and peace are maintained. We never felt disturbed and enjoyed complete tranquillity throughout our stay.
The treehouse itself is beautiful, comfortable and well presented. We particularly enjoyed the slow-combustion fireplace, which created a warm and cosy atmosphere, and there was plenty of good quality dry firewood supplied.
The highlight for us was the bath house. Having two huge baths side by side looking out through the trees was a truly special experience. Sitting back and soaking up the view whilst sipping on a glass of your favourite beverage is a must.
The surrounding bushland is stunning, and the whole property has a peaceful, secluded feel. If you’re looking to reconnect with nature, slow down and enjoy some genuine quiet, this is the perfect destination.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Treehouse at Carawirry Forest Escape and look forward to returning.
“Hell yes!” we would recommend it.

These are the exclusive natural wonders and outdoor activities within the property boundaries.
Wildlife On The Property
Carawirry Forest Escape boasts rainforest, several creeks, high country, ridge forests and open grassland. Because of this diversity of habitat, the property is home to a wonderful variety of animals and plants. Among the animals, the endangered Parma wallaby, powerful owl, and the koala, bettong and potoroo.
Bushwalking On The Property
Carawirry is home to several kilometres of bushwalking trails, as well as thousands of hectares of neighbouring State Forest to explore. All trails are clearly marked and easy enough to follow.
We recommend walking/running in the early morning or early evening (dusk), as that will give you the best chance of spotting at least one of the local animal residents. We suggest you wear firm, supportive shoes and socks for protection when walking through bushland and avoid sandals and thongs.
Always keep to the marked tracks when exploring Carawirry. This is especially important for children. Unfortunately, there are some troublesome ‘natives’ everyone encounters at some time or another in the forest, including leeches, ticks, spiders and snakes.

Mountain Bike Riding On The Property
There are plenty of off-road trails around not only on our property but also in the local surrounding area. The Dungog Common is also a super popular mountain biking spot, so don’t forget to pack your bike.
