Pet-friendly
The closest place to Melbourne that feels the furthest away from it.
An ultimate reset weekender, Rivers Run, sits on the Yarra Ranges State forest through a private back gate and a short stroll to the pristine upper Yarra River.
Nature at the back deck includes an abundant variety of native birdlife from hand feeding king parrots and Kookaburras, whilst the creek fed lake attracts Azure kingfishers and small finches, darting through the ancient tree ferns. Slow down at Rivers Run.

Discover the magic of the redwoods at Warburton.
Probably one of the best-kept secrets in the hills is the forest of Californian Redwoods, Sequoia sempervirens, a few kilometres outside Warburton. The Californian Redwood trees are significant because of the history and extent of the plantation. There are over 1476 trees ranging from 20 metres to the tallest being 55 metres.

The Ada Tree Walk
The Ada tree is nearly 400 years old and will knock your socks off. The Walk will take you anywhere between 45mins-1.5hrs round trip through the rainforest.
The Redwoods
Eight kilometres from Mr Oak is one of Melbourne's best-kept mountain secrets. Planted in 1930 as part of a study by the Board of Works there are over 1450 giant Californian Redwoods growing neatly in a grid, which makes it especially pleasing to the eye. Although these giants are almost a hundred years old and range from 20–55 metres in height, they're all still relatively young. They can live for up to 1800 years and reach over 100 metres into the sky.

Rainforest Gallery
A short walk in the forest, with a 15-meter high walkway in the canopy, it was a great spot to take a stroll and take in the natural surrounds

Rainforrest Gallery
We stopped and did the Rainforest Gallery walk. An incredible chance to see nature at it’s purest. There was no one else but us, and it felt amazing to just stop and soak in nature.
Rainforest Galley
A beautiful rainforest setting with a short circuit to view the creek and different flora and fauna.
