Such a wonderful stay at Meadowland! The landscape was stunning with picturesque views every way. The cabin was incredibly cosy, perfect for enjoying some card games by the fire and making some homema...de meals. The A-frame was also the perfect set up to slow down for breakfast with a view, watching the sheep walk by in the paddocks (the babies were so cute!)
The outdoor area was a great place to spend some time having fun with the ring toss game and swings to watch the gorgeous sunset - both fantastic additions!
When we weren't relaxing at the cabin and enjoying all the small details, the location was perfect, right near Ararat and Halls Gap for exploring on some strolls or lunch at a local cafe.
Lisa and Tommy were also incredible hosts! All throughout the stay Lisa was easily accessible and super helpful, making sure we had everything we could possibly need for our weekend.
The perfect place to spend a long weekend!

Meadowland Off Grid Cabin was truly one of the most peaceful and rejuvenating stays we’ve experienced ❤️ Surrounded by wide open space, sheep and lambs roaming nearby 🐑🌿, and complete privacy, it ge...nuinely felt like the perfect escape from busy city life. From the moment we arrived, everything encouraged us to slow down, switch off, and simply enjoy nature 🍃✨
What made this stay extra special was how beautifully the off-grid experience blended with comfort 🏡 The cabin had everything we needed — a cosy indoor fireplace 🔥, kitchen, bathroom, BBQ setup 🍖, outdoor firepit 🔥, and a separate A-frame lounge with stunning views towards the Grampians ⛰️ Our absolute highlight was the projector movie experience under the warm lights at night 🎥✨ — such a magical and unforgettable moment.
The location was also perfect 📍 Ararat town, with everything you need, is only around 10–15 minutes away, while the Grampians are just a short 20–30 minute drive 🚗 making Meadowland an ideal base to relax and explore the region at the same time.
Lisa & Tom were incredibly kind, welcoming, and thoughtful hosts ❤️ Their communication, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests truly stood out throughout our stay.
If you love nature 🌿, quiet moments, starry skies ✨, and peaceful escapes away from the chaos of the city, Meadowland is a place you’ll never want to leave. We already miss it ❤️❤️

The cabin is really nice. It was spotlessly clean and the things provided for you to use during your stay are of great quality.
I’d recommend trying to go during nice weather, we got a little unluck...y with very strong winds so we weren’t able to take advantage of the outdoors area as much as we would have liked and there’s not a great alternative for eating when that isn’t available.
Lisa was super responsive and helpful both before and during our stay.
I’d recommend checking this place out for yourself, it’s beautiful.

Ararats Hidden Green Gem
A charming heritage park in the heart of Ararat — perfect for a peaceful stroll and quiet moments.
The Mess Barracks A Must Visit
Where rustic charm meets incredible food — a dining experience as memorable as the Grampians itself.
Seppelts Winery
We heard about Seppelts underground labyrinth of tunnels being the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and we had to see for ourselves. We took the extensive history lesson on the guided tour and explored 'The Drives'.
Bests Great Western Winery
We stopped in to the historic Best's Winery to sample the local wines and eat some cheese (the sparkling shiraz is a must!). Then we took the walking tour of the old underground cellar.
Bunjils Shelter
There are not too many areas of the Grampians that you can visit with dogs but Bunjil’s Shelter lies outside the protected National Park area and is very special for its Aboriginal history. At Bunjil’s Shelter you’ll find rock art that's thousands of years old and depicting Bunjil. It’s the only known rock art of Bunjil.
James Mcmurtrie Glass Blowing Studio
A local studio and gallery filled with unique and colourful pieces of glass art.
