Wildlife cabin, an escape in the Grampians
Adventure in Halls Gap, Grampians, VIC, AU
Surrounded by towering trees and the melodic sounds of nature, this wildlife cabin is perfectly located in the heart of Grampians National Park. Our weekend there was nothing short of magical. As we stepped inside, the sophisticated interior design captivated us — black & pink tones, large windows inviting nature in the bedroom, beautiful wood-fired hot tub, and fireplace outside.
Waking up in the morning to the cheerful laughter of kookaburras while watching kangaroos grazing outside was perfect. Our time in the region was mainly spent discovering the area of Halls Gap. We visited the beautiful MacKenzie Falls, and enjoyed the incredible views from the Reeds & The Balconies lookout. We also went wine tasting at the Best’s Great Western Winery, a beautiful winery with some of the most old & rare vines in the world.
In the evening, we enjoyed sinking into the hot tub, having a BBQ near the outdoor fire with a glass of red wine. At night, we watched the stars illuminating in the sky from the comfort of the bedroom.
Leaving felt bittersweet, but the memories built in this tranquil cabin will last forever. Wildlife cabin is a perfect retreat from the busy world of Melbourne City.

Stop at Best's Wines Great Western winery on your way to the Grampians for a cheeky wine tasting and a visit of their underground museum
MacKenzie Falls is the most iconic and spectacular waterfall in the Grampians and one of the largest of Victoria. Embark on the steep walk to the base of MacKenzie Falls to see the waterfall up close. The walk is 2km return and you'll need to trek down 260 narrow steps to reach the base of the falls so be prepared for a difficult climb back to the top.
There are many lookouts to stop in the Grampians National Park to enjoy the surrounding mountains. But Reeds Lookout and the Balconies are a must-do not to be missed.
