Additional Information

Our tiny house is an eco friendly, nature getaway, not a 5* resort. We aim to give you a relaxing and comfortable stay amongst nature with as many mod-cons as possible. Your king size bed with Emma mattress awaits with a fully equipped kitchen including fridge, stove and pod coffee machine as well as a luxe hot shower, lush towels and composting toilet. For those chilly nights we have a diesel heater and outdoor fireplace. There is no air conditioner in the home but we do have 2 small fans for the hotter nights.

The property is located 10 minutes north of Yarra Glen and 60km from Melbourne CBD and is nestled at the Kinglake Ranges foothills surrounded by Yarra Valleys best wineries.

Access to the property is via well made country roads however there are a lot of wildlife on the roads including deer, kangaroos and wombats. Please drive slowly and carefully especially at dawn and dusk.

You will be sent check in instructions 48 hours before your arrival including door code and address.

Please note there is a short walk to the tiny home over flat terrain but can be difficult to see if arriving after dark.

We do live onsite however we are quite far from the tiny home and access our residence via another driveway. We cannot see the tiny home from our house so you can enjoy your privacy.

- Wifi is not available, but there is good mobile service
- No smoking is allowed on the property at all
- A dog is permitted for an additional cost of $25 but not allowed on the bed, please let the host know at the time of booking
- Coffee, tea and sugar is provided but please note milk will need to be provided by the guest
- This property is on a gravel road but fully accessible by 2wd
- There is no TV in the tiny home
- Should you wish to bring a child along, please note that the tiny home is situated next to an unfenced dam and supervision is crucial at all times.

The home has zero reliance to mains infrastructure and generates it's own solar power. Freshwater is collected from the roof and goes through a filtration system under the sink so is safe for drinking. Guests are reminded that the solar system can run down so please be mindful of your power usage.

Firewood can be supplied for $25. Please let the host know at the time of booking if you would like this added to your stay.

What a quiet cosy little place exactly what was needed to get away from the daily stresses of life and work. Needed to stay longer 🙂

The Forest House is in the most picturesque of settings. It's hard to believe it's only 60 minutes from the CBD Melbourne. It's definitely a worthwhile weekend away in the most relaxing of settings. T...he house itself is well equipped and is quite pristine. With everything you could need for a weekend away I would definitely love to come back.

Songbird Cafe Larder

This little cafe is open late and makes the perfect spot to stop and enjoy a late woodfire pizza after a hike in the surrounding Yarra Valley. The cafe also has a little op-shop full of vintage treasures.

Roadside Fresh Fruit Stalls

Depending on which way you head out there will be various fresh fruit stalls on the side of the road outside orchards. We grabbed a bag of apples and avocados for our stay, they were delicious!

Hot Air Ballonning

A "once in a lifetime" experience to do in the Yarra Valley: Hot Air Balloon. The peaceful view of the Yarra valley from above while floating silently in a balloon was SO special. A truly magical experience.

Yarrawood Estate Winery

We stopped in to try some local wines - just a 5 minute drive from the cottage. We didn't know what we were in for!

This place is perfect for everyone who loves great wine with a relaxed atmosphere.

Tash took us through a tasting of their entire wine list. We enjoyed hearing about the team behind Yarrawood and the process of winemaking. She also was giving us great insight into the sweet life of country living.

Good chats, friendly staff, awesome wine - what more could you want.
