Originally featured in the award-winning 'A Moment in Time' garden — People's Choice and Silver Winner at the 2024 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show — this rustic hut captured hearts with its simple design and moving story.
Now offered as an immersive experience stay within an enchanted 10-acre temperate rainforest, the hut stands among the tall mountain ash and lush ferns on the Black Spur in Victoria’s Yarra Ranges — a region rich with natural beauty, winding forest roads, mountain views, and hidden adventures.
Simple in form and thoughtfully pared back, the hut includes just the essentials to help you reset and reconnect. Step inside and you’ll find a cozy space for slow mornings and meaningful moments. The bathroom features an eco-friendly composting toilet, in keeping with the sustainable, off-grid nature of the stay. Step out onto the porch to take in the mountain views, or unwind by the outdoor fire as the evening settles in. This is an unplugged stay, encouraging you to switch off devices, slow your pace, and truly be present.
Wander through a forest rich with towering mountain ash, ancient tree ferns, and rare specimens planted in the late 1800s by Baron Ferdinand von Mueller, founding botanist of Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.
Whether you're soaking in the forest atmosphere, exploring nearby trails, or venturing out to discover waterfalls, wineries, or the vibrant town of Healesville, this stay offers the perfect base for both reflection and adventure.
We live on the property in a separate cabin, giving you privacy while being nearby if needed.

My partner and I had the most amazing stay. It’s such a charming, cosy space with so much character - the perfect little getaway to relax and unwind.
The hosts were absolutely wonderful. So friendly, ...welcoming, and thoughtful, which really made our stay extra special. You can tell they’ve put a lot of care into creating such a beautiful experience.
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape

I surprised my wife with a weekend away at this stunning little hut buried in the Forrest. It was cosy and warm and had everything you would need for little weekend away. I loved the reclaimed timber ...used through out and the rustic finishes. We got the outdoor fire going on our 2nd night and enjoyed a few red wines under the stars. Safe to say I'm in the good books with the wife. Thanks to Suzy and Shane for hosting us at their tremendous property.
Even the driveway up to the accomodation was an experience. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Black Spur Scenic Drive
We embarked on a breathtaking journey through the mesmerizing Black Spur, where towering trees and lush greenery surrounded us. The scenic drive immersed us in nature's awe-inspiring grandeur, enjoying the present moment.

Picnic At Fernshaw Picnic Ground
On our second day, we took some of the ingredients provided by our amazing hosts as well as some fruits and nuts and had a cute little picnic on a field of daisies underneath a giant Cedar tree. It was so dreamy! It is a huge area with plenty to explore and lots of walks to go on!

Selovers Lookout
A beautiful vantage point overlooking the Maroondah reservoir and surrounding mountains. We loved stopping here and taking in the beauty around us!
Maroondah Dam
A wholesome little nature park experience, with the gardens as beautiful as the dam view from the top of the wall, there are some short walks and large gardens to explore, closing at 6pm it's a great time of year to catch the nice light as the sun is setting a little earlier. However any time of day you visit, you're sure to enjoy the view and easy cruise around the gardens.
Boat Ocraigo
Set among rolling vineyards just outside Healesville, Boat O’Craigo is a family-run winery known for its small-batch wines and relaxed cellar door. Enjoy a tasting with stunning views, wood-fired pizza, and warm hospitality. A perfect stop after a day of exploring the Yarra Valley’s natural beauty.

Keppel Lookout
Nestled high above Marysville overlooking the mountains we were taken away by the view.
